OOTD: Saved by the Bell

 Vintage Sweater/ F21 skirt/F21 cardigan/custom converse allstars

Teen Vogue/ Jonathan Saunders/ Rachel Roy 2013/ Marc Jacobs resort 2012

This look is pretty WILD from what I normally wear but I love how all of the crazy patterns and colors go perfectly together. For this look its sort of a mixing prints almost color blocking (with the sweater) look. I also incorporated some custom converse that say my name on them to give it that vintage/80's thing.

I never address how my hair really looks because usually its either up in a topknot or just down natural. But it's pretty important to the overall look. For example, if I wore my hair down in this look, along with the turtle neck it would look and feel stuffy. And just be generally uncomfortable for everyone... But my main point is when putting together an outfit you have to think of the overall end appearance; whether is hair, makeup, nails or accessories, they all add ( or subtract) from the final look.

Ok so for this my inspiration was a lot of bright neon colors, al a Teen Vogue, color blocking from Rachel Roy and a little bit of color/ pattern from Jonathan Saunders and finally perfect pattern pairing and bright, bright colors from Marc Jacobs resort 2012.

OOTD: Winter Floral

F21 wide leg pants/ H&M sweater/ vintage shoes/ vintage necklaces/ Kate Spade bracelt

Raquel Zimmermann by Steven Klein for Vogue US August 2011

 Jason Wu resort 2013

This is just a little something I threw on with about 5 minutes to get to the bus. Even though it was a rushed outfit I do really enjoy it. I Paired a thick black H&M sweater with some floral pants I got at forever21 (on a suuupperr sale) It was such an effortless outfit to wear and it was so comfortable. Like my version of sweatpants!

The pictures I paired with this look are dark florals. The floral in my pants aren't dark but with the sweater and dark shoes, that aren't shown, it gives it more of a winter than summer look. The first series of pictures are from a shoot in vogue fro 2011, I absolutely love the styling and of corse their use of floral. The second set of looks is Jason Wu resort 2013, it incorporates dark floral by using a black background with either white or bright/earth tone colors. So yea dark floral..

OOTD's

Recently I have made a page exclusively devoted to my outfits of the day. Usually they're just crappy iPhone pictures, so I wouldn't make a whole entire post on here for them but, yea. So my OOTDs!! yay ok.

OOTD: Sweater Weather

Sweater Roberta Freymann via vintage store/H&M collared shirt/F21 skirt/Vintage Necklace/JCrew boots

I almost never wear the sweater because I find this pattern so hard to pair with pieces from my wardrobe. Although, once I found this skirt in my closet I knew that it would go perfectly with this sweater. I then used basic pieces to bring the whole outfit together, a plain white shirt and just a single gold chain necklace. Aside from me never wearing this sweater, I do really enjoy it and the whole 70's vintage feel that it provides. The very earthy yet, bright colors of the sweater and the color and height of the boot really give that look but the other pieces I paired with it still give it that modern feel that makes it look more everyday than costume, as some vintage pieces can easily transform into.

Incorporating vintage pieces into your wardrobe is a great way to stand out of the crowd. I mean if I show up somewhere in this sweater it is a GUARANTEE that no one else will have it. Also, I think it really adds interest and spark up a lot of conversation that the same outfit without this sweater would not have. Yea so this is just a fun outfit and I really like it, even though it’s sooo different from what I normally wear, which consists of tons of black.

Sorry for the lack of posts, the hurricane really messed up my blogging. Seriously, mother nature should be a little more forgiving to my up and coming blog.
